Data protection and privacy

First of all: I respect the privacy of the visitors of my homepage and find it absolutely unnecessary to observe their behaviour. This is also the reason why I intentionally abstain from tracking cookies (see below) or similar mechanisms in the technical design of this website. This may mean less comfort in use. However, you will not be observed and analyzed here according to all the rules of the art.

Nevertheless, the legal situation requires the following statements.

Scope of application

This data protection declaration is intended to inform the users of this website in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the website operator.

The website operator takes your data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and according to the legal regulations.

Be aware that data transmission over the Internet can always be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection against access by third parties is not feasible.

Access data

The website operator or site provider collects data about access to the site and stores these as server log files. The following data is logged in this way:

• Visited websites
• Time of the access
• Amount of data sent in bytes
• Source/reference from which you came to the page
• Browser used
• Operating system used
• IP address used

The data collected is used only for statistical purposes and to improve the website. However, the website operator reserves the right to subsequently check the server log files if there are concrete indications of illegal use.

Handling of personal data

The website operator collects, uses and passes on your personal data only if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the collection of data.

Personal data is all information which serves to determine your person and which can be traced back to you – for example your name, e-mail address and telephone number. But also data about the company, name of your website, or which websites were viewed by someone count as personal data. Personal data will only be collected, used and passed on by the provider if this is permitted by law or if the user consents to the collection of such data.

Handling of contact data

If you contact the website operator through the contact options offered, your details will be stored so that they can be used to process and respond to your enquiry. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

Rights of the user: Information, correction and deletion

Your data will be deleted when:

• the purpose of the collection is omitted,
• the consent is revoked,
• the user disagrees (“Delete my data”)
• and no legal storage obligations stand in the way (taxes and accounting).

The user has the right, upon request and free of charge, to obtain information about the personal data stored about him. In addition, the user has the right to correction of incorrect data, blocking and deletion of his personal data, unless there is no legal obligation to retain. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have otherwise been violated in any way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that can be stored by applications on your computer to track your computer activity. This can be desirable or even necessary for various reasons:

For technical reasons, so-called Session Cookies are required in order to use services that use a login. This type of cookie does not contain any personal data and is normally removed automatically when the browser is closed. Session cookies are used for those parts of this website that would not function without such minimal identification of the data stream.

Tracking-Cookies collect more and other data about you and your activities and may misuse or disclose this information to third parties. This type of cookie is deliberately and respectfully omitted here, although this clearly contradicts the trend of the time.
